 Kotresh, IIUC this is mainly impacted in release-5 because of the changes done
to replace CALLOC with MALLOC. Earlier, though comparison of the on disk
signature and the calculated signature did not use the on disk signature length
to decide how many bytes to compare. 

This is the release-5 backport. I dont think release-4 is impacted.
