You can try removing "create mask = 0777" and see if you face the issue. 
I am not saying "create mask = 0777" is an issue, but I have never used 
GlusterFS + Sama+ vfs plugin with this. If it works fine without "create 
mask = 0777" then the issue you are seeing might be genuine bug.
