Yes, I get the same for your tar file. Works fine for root, but not non-root.

I'm wondering if this is related to rdma somehow. The rdma rpm is
installed, but I
was under the impression that it is only used for 10Gig ethernet?
Should I remove
the rdma rpms? The volume/bricks were explicitly configured for tcp.
