If the proposed change is ok (which I don't know for sure yet), I'll do it when
I've time. It's not urgent and there's a fallback for the particular cases
where the client is not running as root (only for gfapi) so it can get delayed.

The change is quite simple though. Only select a different path depending on
the user (and maybe creating some directory), so if someone wants to take it,
I'll be happy to help.
