After enabling multiplex health_check_thread will send detach request for
specific 
brick but brick will not reattach automatically.

Yes, you are right admin intervention requires to attach brick again, glusterd
does not attach brick automatically unless the user does not start volume.

To avoid this you don't' need to choose both options but there are several
other benefits of enabling brick multiplex. To know more please follow this

If you just want to avoid this situation you can use 2nd option.
