with glusterfs-6.x version:

# glusterfs --volfile-server local --volfile-id demo --read-only /mnt/glusterfs

# mount | grep '/mnt/glusterfs'
local:demo on /mnt/glusterfs type fuse.glusterfs
(ro,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,default_permissions,allow_other,max_read=131072)
