Thanks George for an awesome detailed bug report. Apologies that this got
missed from some of our attention.

While changing option and continuing to work properly is the expectation we
have, and it does work fine even on latest fedora29 and fedora30. Not seen any
issues.

Can you check if the issue still persist for you in your distro?
