This issue also occured to us. We were able to regain the expected write
performance for our replica-2 volumes using the suggested workaround
(performance.write-behind off, data-self-heal off).

However, the problem remains for replica-3 arbiter-1 volumes and we currently
consider downgrading to 3.7.6. Do you have any further suggestions?
