As I recollect, this bug was raised primarily to improve healing in case of
replacing brick, and also performance issues faced with rebalance while adding
bricks.
With the changes to related to sharding/ multi-thread self heal we have mostly
addressed these.
I suggest to close this, and open specific bugs when we face issues related to
these scenarios.
