Hi,

Few basic questions:
1. Why do you need "posix locking = yes" setting in your setup?
'posix locking' is enabled only for multiprotocol support, as in when you
want to access the same share by SMB/NFS/FUSE at the same time. If 'posix
locking = no' even then the locking works well, just that the lock database is
shared at the Samba layer itself. Note that, with gluster as backend, we don't
support multiprotocol access yet. Also 'posix locking = no' has better
performance.

2. Do you have single samba node or a cluster of samba with ctdb?

3. When you see the hang, can you please share the # smbstatus output from the
node where samba is running? This will tell us the files that are locked and
their modes.
