[Gluster-users] how 'diff' cluster.data-self-heal-algorithm works?

if cluster.data-self-heal-algorithm set to ‘diff’,just  copies to sinks only those blocks whose checksums don't match with those of source.
my questions:
1.how to know the block size?
2.blocks’ checksums was stored  when writing files or not stored and just need to be computed when self-healing?
