[Gluster-users] "Invalid argument" when removing filesand"Nosuchfile or directory" when creating files

Hi, James,

some test cases as followed,

1. postmark to create/delete many small files, configuration postmark.conf is,
set size 2048 6096
set number 100000
set location /mnt/dhtstp
set subdirectories 100
set read 512
set write 512
run 
quit

2. iozone to test performance
iozone -o -c -r 4m (or 4k) -s 32g -i 0 -i 1 -i 2 -t 8

3. extract glusterfs-3.2.1.tar.gz and compile

4. extract linux kernel linux-pnfs.tar.bz2 and compile

All of above test cases are finished normally, and they were all failed before applying the patch.

The patch 7573 works fine. I have many tests and can confirm the patch fixes the issue.

http://patches.gluster.com/patch/7573/ should fix the issue. The patch has gone to only master branch (ie, release will be only in 3.3.0) If you can confirm applying this patch fixes the issue, then we can make sure next releases in 3.2.x (or 3.1.x branch) will be having this fix.

It's a new gluster installation from 3.2.1 version, and no files in gluster at beginning, also no rebalance.

It's very strange, distributed volume, distributed + repilca volume, and distributed + full stripe(stripe count = bricks count, just like RAID0) volume works fine, only distributed + stripe (stripe count < bricks count) has such issues.

should you clean up the bad files from a rebalance on a previous version to fix this?
