[Gluster-users] Gluster Storage Platform on Amazons EC2?

I have used it... It works great! Just install the client on the EC2 image. Without encryption, be careful transmitting sensitive data of course, but the next step for me was using openvpn to encapsulate my "remote nodes" communication so that all glusterfs file traffic was inside the openvpn tunnel. 

Did you have a specific use case in mind when you ask how to use it? If so, I can explain further what I have done so far.
