It is not possible to remove packages from the base CentOS repositories. These
packages are rebuilds of the RHEL base packages and are expected to be
available in the same versions.

However, you can install centos-release-gluster from CentOS Extras to enable an
additional repository and get the latest maintained GlusterFS version and
tools.
