As of current master (420c2d03543a35f1f5483f200541577f4a606b22), I can't
reproduce this. I'll reopen this bug or file a new one if I ever bump into this
again.

[root at gd2-1 1233136]# gcc crash.c -I /usr/local/include/glusterfs/ -lgfapi -O0
-ggdb -o ./crash

[root at gd2-1 1233136]# ./crash 
read returned: 4
glfs_fini returned: 0
