Tested this issue with glusterfs-3.6.0.48-1.el6rhs with the following steps :

1. created a 2 node cluster
2. created 2 distribute volume ( vol1, vol2 )
3. Executed repeated 'volume set' operations on vol1 in loop ( in background )
4. Executed repeated 'volume set' operations on vol2 in loop ( in foreground )

There were no errors.
When executed the above steps with glusterfs-3.6.0.42-1.1.elrhs, observed the
error "Locking failed on Peer", while in one 'volume set' operation. Such an
error is not seen with the latest build ( RHS 3.0.4 nightly )

But while running the 'volume set' operations for an hour, resulted in glusterd
OOM killed. After consulting with Atin, it looks like a different issue and
hence opened a new bug for glusterd OOM Kill,
