Could you provide the following information:

- Version of gluster, samba, ctdb
- output of smbstatus
- Samba logs, can be found in /var/log/samba/log.<client ip>

Also could you add the below option in your smb.conf, in the gluster share
section:
kernel share modes = no

I also see valid users = jon, make sure the samba is able authenticate user
'jon'.
