Description of problem:

Currently, when a brick dies or something fails in the middle of an update it's
not possible to know if the modification was really applied or not. This can
lead to corrupted data when, on a future read, it's assumed that the data has
not been modified if the version xattr has not been incremented.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): mainline
