--- Comment #7 from Rahul Hinduja <rhinduja at redhat.com> ---
When .snaps was present as directory, ls inside .snaps after enabling uss shows
the snaps:
===============================================================================

[root at wingo f]# cd .snaps
[root at wingo .snaps]# ls
rs1
[root at wingo .snaps]#

When .snaps was present as file, cat .snaps errors that it is a directory
=========================================================================

[root at wingo f1]# cat .snaps
cat: .snaps: Is a directory

Verified with build: glusterfs-3.6.0.36-1.el6.x86_64

After disabling uss:
====================

[root at wingo f]# cd .snaps
[root at wingo .snaps]# ls
host.conf  hosts  hosts.allow  hosts.deny
[root at wingo .snaps]#
[root at wingo .snaps]# cd ../../f1
[root at wingo f1]# cat .snaps
This is file .snaps before uss is enabled
[root at wingo f1]#

Moving the bug to verified for fuse, the issue still persist for nfs because of
nfs caching which is tracked by 1159283
