GlusterFS 3.5.0 Beta1 and the GlusterFest Weekend

The first GlusterFS 3.5 Beta is here! See what features made it in over at the 3.5 planning page[1]. Here are some of the marquee features:

    File Snapshot
    Quota Scalability
    Brick Failure Detection
    On-wire Compression and Decompression
    Disk Encryption

You can download the Beta from the standard download URL: http://gluster.org/download/ 

With this first beta, we'll have a GlusterFest testing weekend[2]! We'll kick it off on Friday, January 17 at 00:00 GMT, continuing through Monday, January 20 at 23:59 GMT. Set your clocks!

You can help by:
   - Filling out the recommended testing procedures on the GlusterFest page - editing the wiki
   - Running tests that mimic the workload in your environment
