[Gluster-users] moving from replicate 2 to replicate 3 arbiter 1

 Hi all,

I have a 10 brick volume with replica 2 on each brick. Bricks are
individual servers. I'd like to move to a replica 3 arbiter 1.

I also have a sand-box server setup where I've been playing with different
ways of doing this.
I found that I can create a replica 3 arbiter 1 if I have only one replica
2 brick volume using:

gluster volume add-brick tgv01 replica 3 arbiter 1 tga01:/data1 force

where tgv01 = the volume (tgs01 + tgs02) is the replica 2 brick. When
above is executed I get the desired results.

When I go back to the replica 2 volume (tgs01 + tgs02), then add a second
brick in (tgs03 + tgs02), I get an error saying add-brick failed when
trying to move the volume to a replica 3 arbiter 1.

I also tried:

gluster volume add-brick tgv01 replica 3 arbiter 1 tgc01:/data tgc02:/data
tga01:/data1 force

and I get the same error message.

Is there any way to move a multi-brick volume to a replica 3 arbiter 1
volume?

Thank you in advance for any constructive feedback.

Jim
