I think setup for gluster binary location is wrongly setup here.

Can you please try setting it up by using following command

on master
#gluster vol geo-rep <mastervol> <slave-vol> config
gluster-command-dir <gluster-binary-location>

and on slave
#gluster vol geo-rep <mastervol> <slave-vol> config
slave-gluster-command-dir <gluster-binary-location>
