Sorry, you are right:

root at vms1:~# uname -a
Linux vms1 2.6.38-13-server #53~lucid1-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 29 13:12:12 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux

root at vms1:~# gluster -V
glusterfs 3.2.5 built on Nov 23 2011 09:16:06

root at vms1:~# gluster volume info test

Volume Name: test
Type: Replicate
Status: Started
Number of Bricks: 2
Transport-type: tcp
Bricks:
Brick1: zoo:/gfs
Brick2: vms1:/gfs

zoo and vms1 are Intel 64bit Xeons 3 GHz quadcore server with 8 GB RAM and 1 GbE.

But which values for which parameters ure useful?

I have tried it with:

gluster volume set test performance.cache-size 256MB
gluster volume set test performance.write-behind-window-size 256MB

but got no better performance.
