[Gluster-users] Is Vijay's guide to upgrading Gluster still relevant?

Hello,

Is it still a best practice to upgrade a Gluster 3.6.x instance using
Vijay's instructions written back in the 3.4 days?  Upgrading to GlusterFS
3.4.0 <http://vbellur.wordpress.com/2013/07/15/upgrading-to-glusterfs-3-4/>

In other words, should one always stop the the glusterd daemon before
upgrading to a newer version?
