To set expectations at the appropriate level, this is the recommended setup, if you're going to do it.
Further enhancements down the road will enable better performance for other use cases, but for now, don't expect a VM residing on a GlusterFS volume to have great write performance.
If anyone wishes to jump in with their setup that clashes with that opinion, by all means, please do.
