AIO support exist if they are talking about libaio

Afaics kqueue is FreeBSD poll functionality. GlusterFS by default is epoll
which is non existent on BSD'S . In such case it has a fallback to poll

ZFS worked out of box on Solaris for GlusterFS 1.3.x so I would say yes.
