Well if it has --xml, then adding --json is pretty easy:

gluster command argument --xml | ./xml2json
--i-dont-know-if-this-is-real-but-it-is-trivial-to-write

Supporting more than one stable output format is really unnecessary
when it's easy to do outside of GlusterFS.
