Hi,
We did run Valgrind for smbd process(with vfs gluster plugin), and performed IO, gluster graph changes and other operations, but we didn't hit 'out of memory' issue.
Could you please tell us, what operations were you performing, when it oom killed? Were there extensive gluster graph changes being made?
Also how long was the process running before it was oom killed?
Please set the following options, because it looks like the samba server is out of trusted ports.
Set the option "server.allow-insecure" to 'on' on your gluster volume.
Edit the glusterd.vol file to add the below line:
option rpc-auth-allow-insecure on

I just got oom kill dmesg and /var/log/samba/log.client, no smbd core files.
