[Gluster-devel] question on GF_ASSERT (0)

hi, all
    I have a question when I was reading glusterfs source code. some code is like that:
       
       if (!xl) {
             GF_ASSERT (0);
       }
   why not just write  GF_ASSERT (xl); ?
