Thanks for pointing Steffen,
committed the fix, now $(docdir) is set correctly. It is customary not to
supply autogen.sh with the release tarballs since you are not expected to
make changes to Makefile.am/configure.ac via the tarball (in which case you
are expected to use a source checkout).
