I am using only the kernel module of glfs2 vs glfs1. I have fuse-2.7.0 already installed. I have no --direct-io-mode specified so it should default to enable

Harris,
are you using the kernel module of glfs2 patched fuse? also what is the command line argument passed to --direct-io-mode=<value> (if any) ?

In light testing, the new fuse module is about 10-15% slower than the old one (glfs1)

Hi all,
Here is another version of patched FUSE from the GlusterFS team.
http://ftp.zresearch.com/pub/gluster/glusterfs/fuse/fuse-2.7.0-glfs2.tar.gz
This version of FUSE, along with patch-432 or above should give improved
performance for write operations. In particular 'cp' and 'rsync' should work
better for large files (> 1MB).
Please note that for NFS re-export compatibility, you will have to run
'glusterfs' with "--direct-io-mode=disable" command line arguments.
thanks!
