We are not looking into these right now. We hope the latest branches are in
good shape with respect to the test case spurious failures. Please upgrade to

For keeping track of this for future, marking the bugs as DEFERRED, so we can

We are not looking into these right now. We hope the latest branches are in
good shape with respect to the test case spurious failures. Please upgrade to
latest version and let us know how does this work.
For keeping track of this for future, marking the bugs as DEFERRED, so we can
get back to this in future.

But that was specific to FB branch, which means, the patch was specifically
developed with their usecase in mind. As per making this generic, there were
concerns, and hence the patch for master was abandon'd. (and hence the bug got
moved to NEW).

With glusterfs-6.x and latest glusterfs branches we don't seem to have any IPv6
known issues. Considering this was opened with glusterfs3-12, would like to
upgrade and see if this is fixed.
Marking it as WORKSFORME with higher versions.

--- Comment #12 from homma at allworks.co.jp ---
The problem persists on release 5.6.
We cannot update fuse client to release 5 (or even 6) on our production
environment because of this problem.
I have examined the source code in more detail.
rda_fill_fd_cbk() passes entries with zeroed iatts to other xlators, but for
example, md-cache invalidates its cache entry when iatt with ia_ctime=0 is
passed.
In md-cache.c, function mdc_inode_iatt_set_validate():
if (!iatt || !iatt->ia_ctime) {
gf_msg_callingfn("md-cache", GF_LOG_TRACE, 0, 0,
"invalidating iatt(NULL)"
"(%s)",
uuid_utoa(inode->gfid));
mdc->ia_time = 0;
mdc->valid = 0;
gen = __mdc_get_generation(this, mdc);
mdc->invalidation_time = (gen & 0xffffffff);
goto unlock;
}
On the other hand, posix-acl updates its ctx without checking the content of
the passed iatts.
In posix-acl.c, function posix_acl_ctx_update():
ctx = __posix_acl_ctx_get(inode, this, _gf_true);
if (!ctx) {
ret = -1;
goto unlock;
}
ctx->uid = buf->ia_uid;
ctx->gid = buf->ia_gid;
ctx->perm = st_mode_from_ia(buf->ia_prot, buf->ia_type);
ctx->fop = fop;
I think posix-acl.c should be modified not to update its ctx, when iatt with
ia_ctime=0 is passed.

Yes, This has not been fixed yet and a design discussion is going on. There is
a common approach which will be used for this as well as gfid split brain in
afr
Solution could be complex and we are working on all the cases before finalizing
design and implementation.
There is one more bug raised by Nithya,

Is the removed brick removed from graph even before remove-brick is committed?
Can you explain what are the effects of remove-brick and remove-brick commit on
the graph?

A remove-brick force or remove-brick commit will update the graph to remove the
bricks.
This was a while ago but IIRC, the old graph kept trying to connect to the
brick even though it was no longer active. The new graph connections worked as
expected.
