Hi. Thanks for that response. This only suppresses the warning message, not the
exit code. It would be necessary to check the exit code everywhere used to try
and detect the issue and work around it.

I've since realised that this bug isn't against tar. I believe that is where
the bug is.

My current workaround has been to build my own version of tar to fix the issue.
I'll look at raising a bug against tar for a longer term fix.
